![]() This game's about getting together and murdering your friends. The single-player story from the PS3 version of Fat Princess is in Fistful of Cake along with a few brand new chapters no one's ever really talked about single-player before, so I'm not going to act like I know what it's all about. Here, the ground is made up of dark blue bricks as well as islands in the middle of lava streams and there are spiked fences and withers trees. The other map was Sweet N' Sulphur, and it wasn't like anything else that I have seen. There were springboards and more, but it was a pretty barren landscape. Butterscotch Mesa looks similar to Black Forest with its bright colors and popping visuals, but the ground and environment pretty much only consists of stone material. ![]() Still a PS3 screen, but it's pretty, right?Įven though the traditional Black Forest map was on this build, I skipped the classic and kicked the tires on two of the new maps. Still, I'm all behind expanding the way you play Princess. Yeah, those were very basic descriptions, but it's because I didn't get to see any of these modes - my demo was limited to the traditional Save the Princess mode. In terms of what you can do mode-wise: Demolition has you dealing with bombs, Dilapidated starts the game with every hat machine in disrepair and leaves it to you to fix them, Ripper is simply a race to see who can kill the most people the fastest, and Jailbreak is all about assaulting the outposts. ![]() I've logged a lot of time with the PS3 version of Fat Princess, and I was honestly impressed that the PSP experience is so much like the original - just with a bit rougher graphics and a more distant point of view. Basically all the videos you might have seen on the PS3 page apply here because that's exactly what's going on in Fistful of Cake. Holding the strike button charges your attack so that your axe swing is more powerful or your arrows go farther, you can pick up cake to feed the princess, carry raw materials to make new hats, and the jump button will get you from platform to platform. Your buttons are basic, but you use them to attack and gather for the greater good. If you've never seen Fat Princess in action, these cute-as-a-button characters jog around the map trying to kill each other in a bright cartoon world. Now, Fistful of Cake is said to contain everything that the console version does, but it's also packing four new modes and six new maps. Here, eight players will be able to face off in a number of different multiplayer contests in both ad-hoc and infrastructure matches. Yup, even though the PlayStation 3 version of Fat Princess isn't out yet, SuperVillan Studios has picked up the franchise and brought it to the PSP.
